Hari Nathan Kalyan has extensive experience representing clients within the hospitality and alcohol beverage industries. Hari handles all types of matters related to licensing, manufacturing and distribution, including license issuance and renewal, defense of citations, acquisitions and transfers of licenses, and regulatory compliance. He also assists clients with matters related to owning and operating their businesses, such as corporate planning and structuring, transactional counseling, real estate, land use and zoning; and litigation.
Hari represents a broad range of clients including first time entrepreneurs, well-established, multi-unit food and beverage brands, alcohol manufacturers and distributors, and service providers to those industry members, such as commercial real estate developers and technology companies. Hari also represents the various stakeholders throughout the cannabis industry ecosystem - growers, retailers, and investors - and provides counsel to musicians, visual artists, screenwriters and other creatives.
Hari is a seasoned hospitality operator and a recognized leader in the NYC hospitality industry as co-founder of Randolph Beer brewpubs and as a partner in a number of other hospitality establishments. Hari currently serves as General Counsel to Bluestone Lane, playing an active role in their rapid nationwide development, and maintains an Of Counsel relationship with the New York City office of the law firm Norris McLaughlin.
Prior to entering private practice, Hari clerked for the Honorable Nelson S. Roman, who currently sits in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. Hari commits his time as a volunteer attorney with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and the NYC Housing Court, among other pro bono and charitable activities.
